The 2nd Asian Invertebrate Immunology Symposium (AIIS) 2016 will be held on October 14-17, 2016 in Hangzhou, China. AIIS was initiated by Prof. Bok Luel Lee (Pusan National University, Korea). The 1st AIIS was organized by Profs. Bok Luel Lee (Pusan National University, Korea), Shun-ichiro Kawabata (Kyushu University, Japan) and Erjun Ling (Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, China) and held in Pusan National University in 2014. It aims to provide with a platform to share advanced researches on the invertebrate innate immunity among Asian countries and enhance out influences in this field, and also to provide a golden opportunity to promote collaborative research networks between scholars and disciplines. The conference is going to address various important topics onthe invertebrate innate immunity including microorganisms, host-pathogen interaction and the influence on invertebrate animal development. The symposium will include plenary and keynote talks, oral presentations and posters.

 

Hangzhou https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangzhouis the capital and largest city of Zhejiang Province in Eastern China. It sits at the head of Hangzhou Bay on China's coast between Shanghai and Ningbo. Hangzhou grew to prominence as the southern terminus of the Grand Canal and has been one of the most renowned and prosperous cities in China for much of the last millennium, due in part to its beautiful natural scenery. The city's West Lake is its best-known attraction.

 

Zhejiang University (http://www.zju.edu.cn), sometimes referred to as Zheda, is a national university in China. Founded in 1897, Zhejiang University is one of China's oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher education. It is a member of the C9 League, the Yangtze Delta Universities Alliance and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities. With five campuses, namely Zijin'gang, Yuquan, Xixi, Huajiachi and Zhijiang campuses, Zhejiang University encompasses an area of 4.5 square kilometers with school buildings covering 1.94 million square meters of floor space. Zijin'gang Campus is new and the biggest campus, the headquarters, campus of medical school, located in the northwest of Hangzhou. Research at Zhejiang University spans 12 academic disciplines, covering philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, art, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and etc. With 7 faculties and 36 colleges/schools, Zhejiang University has 14 primary and 21 secondary national leading academic disciplines. At present, there are a total of 45,678 full-time students enrolled at Zhejiang University, including 22,376 graduate students, 8577 Ph.D candidates, and 23,302 undergraduates. In addition, there are 3,407 international students currently attending Zhejiang University.

Travel information

The AIIS2016 will be held at Yuanzheng Qizhen Hotel(圆正启真宾馆)in Hangzhou, China. There are different means of transportation to get to the Conference hotel.

1. From Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport

The best choice is to take a flight from your country to the Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport (HGH; http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/zhejiang/hangzhou/airport.htm). Yuanzheng Qizhen hotel(圆正启真宾馆)is located 25 miles from the Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport (HGH). Taxi service to the Conference hotels is available at the airport. Cost is approximately 150 RMB. There is also a bus service (cost 20 RMB) between HGH and downtown Hangzhou. Get off at the terminal stop at Wulinmen and take a taxi from Wulinmen to the Conference hotel. Cost is approximately 35 RMB.

2. From Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG; http://en.shairport.com/) or Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA; http://en.shairport.com/hongqiaoair.html) by train

If your flight stops at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, please take the Metro from Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG) to Shanghai Hongqiao Train Station (http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/shanghai-hongqiao-station.htm), with a travel time of about 75 to 90 minutes. If your flight stops at the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, you can take the Metro to the Shanghai Hongqiao Train Station. Then take a high-speed train from Hongqiao train station to Hangzhou train station. Train ticket is about 100RMB and traveling time is around 60 minutes. Train tickets for domestic travels are available from ticket machines near the entrance of each station. Tickets are also available from the ticket windows at each station and on-duty staff will be able to provide you with train departure information. The Conference hotel is 10 miles from the Hangzhou East Station. Taxi cost to the Conference hotel is approximately 60RMB.

Note that one can also take the Airport Bus Shuttle from PVG to Shanghai Hongqiao train station. After exiting from the Immigration and Customs at PVG, look for signs that say Airport Bus. Take Line No. 1 to Hongqiao International Airport and get off at the stop for the Hongqiao Train Station. Cost is about 30RMB.

3. From Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG) by bus

One can take the long distance bus with direct service from PVG to the City Center of Hangzhou. After exiting from the Immigration and Customs at PVG, look for signs that say Long Distance Bus. The bus runs every hour and the cost is 110 RMB. Get off at the second stop at Huanglong Gymnasium (黃龍體育館) and take a taxi from Huanglong Gymnasium to the Conference hotel. Cost is approximately 30 RMB.

4. From Hangzhou Railway Station:

The Conference hotel is 11 miles from the Hangzhou East Railway Station and 10 miles from the Hangzhou Railway Station. Taxi cost to the Conference hotel is approximately 60 RMB from Hangzhou East Railway Station, and 55 RMB from Hangzhou Railway Station.
