Academics

   The college has over 800 students taking undergraduate degree programs. The excellent faculty, the abundant teaching resources and the modern teaching facilities provide excellent environment for training students with innovations.


    Our college actively promotes the internationalization of undergraduate education and has undergraduate 2+2 and 3+X joint training agreements with many top universities worldwide. The Undergraduate Exchange Scholarship founded by CAB financially supports student delegations for overseas scientific research training programs. The overseas exchange rate for undergraduates is approximately 60.8%


 Agronomy
    The discipline of Agronomy is engaged in the researches ranging from crop genetics and breeding to efficient cultivation and commercialization. Students majoring in Agronomy will be trained to become qualified individuals who are knowledgeable in the fields of agricultural biotechnology and bioinformatics, genetics and developmental biology, modern agricultural techniques and breeding methodologies, and environmental friendly production system for quality and safety produces in crop plants, and will possess sound fundamental theories and practical skills in agronomy as well as an open-minded, international vision. These graduates are well competent to the various positions including industrial planning, technological development, management and administration, teaching and research.
 
Horticulture
    Students majoring in Horticulture will be trained to become qualified individuals who are knowledgeable in the fields of life science and modern agricultural techniques, cultivation, breeding, postharvest handling, and nutrient and function of horticultural crops, and will have sound fundamental theories and practical skills in agronomy as well as an open-minded, international vision . These graduates are well competent to the various positions including teaching and research, technology development and application, industrial management and administration.
 
Plant Protection
    The Plant Protection discipline at Zhejiang University has a long and distinguished history, and has acquired an excellent reputation in teaching and research in China. The discipline currently has a well-recognized academic personnel for teaching and research. Our mission is to provide distinctive educational programmers that will help students to learn and train themselves to become qualified individuals who are knowledgeable in the fields of life sciences and modern agricultural sciences, and are equipped with sound fundamental theories and practical skills in plant protection as well as an open-minded, international vision. Graduates will be well-qualified to work in various sectors of the society including teaching, research, extension, administration, and business management.
 
Tea Science
    Tea is a special economic crop in China, as honored the king of beverages in 21th century. Students majoring in this discipline will be trained to become qualified individuals who are knowledgeable in the field of tea science. These graduates are well competent to the various positions including industrial planning, technological development, management and administration, teaching and research.
 
Applied Bioscience
    Applied bioscience centers on the modern life science, biotechnology, information technology and engineering technology, and aims to train excellent students who are passionate about further study. It is expected that 50% of graduates will be admitted to both Ph.D. and master programs of domestic distinguished universities or research institutions, 30% of graduates will study abroad, and the rest 20% of graduates will work in the state organization, enterprises, or universities and research institutions.
 
Landscape Architecture
    The discipline of Landscape Architecture will train students to become qualified individuals for engineering and techniques of landscape planning, design and construction of all kinds of scenic areas, forest parks, gardens and green spaces in cities and towns, or for breeding, cultivation, maintenance and management of landscape plants. The students will be equipped with basic theories of ecology, landscape plants, landscape planning and design as well as the skills of painting, architecture and engineering. They are required to have comprehensive knowledge of humanities and art, planning and design, biology and environment, architecture and engineering. An extra examination for painting is required in the first semester.
