2019年9月8日至13日，第十九届澳大利亚大麦产业研讨会（the 19th Australia Barley Technical Symposium，ABTS）在西澳首府珀斯举行。自1983年起，两年一度的澳大利亚大麦产业研讨会在全球大麦与麦芽界享有很高的学术声誉。本届ABTS组织委员会共安排了51个大会报告和14个口头汇报。

       浙江大学农学院作物所张国平教授应邀参与了西澳大麦协会组织的田间考察，并在大会上作了题为“Identification and characterization of Tibetan wild barley accessions with high low-N tolerance”的特邀报告。同时，张国平教授的两位博士生傅良波和吴丽元以及一位硕士生邝刘辉分别作了题为“Metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses reveal the difference in salt tolerance between barley and rice”，“Identification of microRNAs in response to aluminium stress in the roots of barley”和“Identification of microRNAs responding to salt stress in barley by high-throughput sequencing and degradome analysis”的口头报告。此外，浙江大学校友、澳大利亚莫道克大学博士后韩勇博士（导师为张国平教授）也在大会上作了题为“CRISPR-Cas9 Genome editing and precision barley breeding”的精彩报告。
