Dr. Leonardo Darío Gómez 简介:
Present Position: Senior Research fellow at the Centre for Novel Agricultural Products, department of Biology, University of York, UK.
 
Research Projects:
 a) SUNLIBB I lead the Biomass Deconstruction Work Package within SUNLIBB. SUNLIBB is a collaborative project between the EU and Brazil, dedicated to developing biomass resources as an alternative energy source. The SUNLIBB participants represent the most experienced institutions in Biomass Conversion both in the EU and Brazil.
b) EU FP7 RENEWALL project. This project, aimed at tackling the recalcitrance of plant cell walls to conversion into biofuels, is carried out by a large Consortium involving academic researchers, large companies and SMEs from several European countries (www.renewall.eu). He is in charge of developing tools for the analysis of plant material digestibility. He have developed a robust and sensitive high throughput platform for the screening of large populations in order to identify useful markers in this particular trait.
c) Lignin Research Programme of the BBSRC Sustainable Bioenergy Centre, UK. He is responsible for overseeing the York contribution to this project, aimed at manipulating the properties of lignin in barley straw to increase efficiency in biofuel production.
