Date:2020-04-13 Hits:129

Recently, Plant Genomics edited by Prof. FAN Longjiang from the Zhejiang University College of Agriculture and Biotechnology was published by Science Press. It took three years for FAN’s team to accomplish this elaborate work. Plant Genomics is the first textbook in the field of plant genomics in China. Therefore, it will become essential teaching material in Zhejiang University and other universities.

Plant Genomics

With great support from Science Press, Plant Genomics was successfully published as a key textbook[1]. Prof. HAN Bin[2], academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, spoke highly of this book in the preface, There has always been a lack of a leading and authoritative textbook of plant genomics , he wrote, Fortunately, Prof. FAN and his team spent years to compile Plant Genomics. I’m really honored to read the manuscript and write the preface, FAN is an experienced teacher in plant genomics and bioinformatics, and a leading researcher. Moreover, he has great passion and a strong sense of responsibility for writing Plant Genomics. This systematic and comprehensive textbook is eminently readable and concise. So it can be a great reference book for students and young researchers. With this book, they can have a progressive understanding of research. I highly recommend this textbook.

Genomics is one of the most active disciplines in biology. Botany and its related disciplines are in the rapid growth of genomics, which has great technological progress. However there’s no specialised textbook of plant genomics as the existing ones are integrated. As a result, it is necessary but also challenging to compile a new book. In order to make the book comprehensive and concise, FAN’s team invited many authorities, such as Prof. QIAN Qian, to review the manuscript.
