At the invitation of professor Sergey Shabala, associate professor Fanrong Zeng from CAB, visited University of Tasmania in Australia on January 25 – February 4, 2020. During the visiting, A/Prof. Zeng Learnt the theory, features, hardware components, applications, measuring procedures and maintenance of micro-electrode ion flux estimation (MIFE) technique; and carried out the practical training on the hardware assembling and measuring procedures of MIFE technique. Furthermore, A/Prof. Zeng reported the recent progress on “the mechanism of calcium regulating cadmium uptake in rice”to the colleagues in UTAS and made an in-depth discussion with Prof Shabala on the application of international joint projects and research contents of the collaboration.
According to this academic exchange visit, A/Prof. Zeng has mastered the key technical theories and hardware assembling of MIFE technique, building a foundation for introducing the MIFE system into China.
