The delegates from from UASMV Cluj-Napoca in Romania visited CAB of ZJU

At the invitation of Prof. Yuanwen Teng, Dr. Dan-cristian VODNAR, vice Rector in charge of scientific research at University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and Dr. Doina CLAPA and Dr. Orsolya BORSAI of the Faculty of Horticulture of the University visited the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology of Zhejiang University from May 24, 2019 to June 1, 2019. 

Prof. Shuijin Zhu, Vice Dean of CAB, met with guests and introduced current status of CAB’s research and talent training to the guests, and expressed his intention to cooperate with the Romanian University in scientific research and student exchanges. The Romanian guests introduced the basic information and research status of the University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca. During the visit, the two sides held a one-day academic workshop. Dr. VODNAR and his colleagues also attended the graduate thesis defense meeting of the pear research group of the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology, and visited the relevant laboratories of CAB and the college of Biosytems Engineering and Food Science, as well as the experimental farm of Huzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences. This visit was jointly funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Romanian Ministry of Research and Innovation.

Founded in 1869, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca in Romania has a history of more than 140 years. The University is currently one of the most prestigious universities in Romania in both teaching and research, ranking fifth overall in Romania. With 6,000 students, the university offers 21 undergraduate programs, as well as master's and doctoral programs. There are five Faculties under the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Horticulture, the Faculry of Animal Science and Biotechnology, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and the Faculty of Food Science and Technology.
