Invited by Professor James R. Walters, Li Meizhen from Institute of Insect Sciences visited Walters’ Lab in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Kansas from August 31st, 2018 to January 30th, 2019. During her visit, Li Meizhen learned practical programming and statistics skills in the field of insect genomes. She has finished assembling and analyzing the genome of the cotton mealybug, Phenacoccus solenopsis as well as drafting the manuscript.
