Postdoc Mengli Chen visits Michigan State University

Mengli Chen, a postdoc from institute of pesticide and environmental toxicology, was invited by Prof. Ke Dong from Michigan State University to visit her lab from Jun 8th, 2018 to Dec 2th, 2018.

During the visiting term, Mengli Chen identified the function of the knockdown mutations of mosquito sodium channel in Xenpus laevis oocytes by two electrode voltage clamping. Also she learned new techniques, including single sensillar recording, crispr/cas9 and droslphila empty neuron system. The most important thing was that she was cooperated with Prof. Ke Dong in the repellency of mosquito induced by pyrethrum, after she’s back, she will continue to explore the mechanism of the repellency.
