Associate Prof. Zhu Jinwen visits Cornell University and attends the 26th Asian-Pacific Weed Science Congress

Associate Prof. Zhu Jinwen from Department of Plant Protection (Weed Science Section) finished 6 months collaborating research as a visiting scholar in Cornell University with famous weed scientist Prof. Antonio DiTommaso. The competition of alien invasive plant Ipomoea hederacea (L.) Jacq. and local main crops such as maize and soybean under drought stress were conducted during his visiting. Besides, Dr. Zhu took part in the teaching activity of the course Weed Biology and Management, and other activities such as Field Day in Cornell University.

Dr. Zhu also attended the 26th Asian-Pacific Weed Science Congress held in Tyoto of Japan, during Sep.19th-23rd, 2017, which was organized by Asian-Pacific Weed Science Society (APWSS). Dr. Zhu had an oral presentation titled“Weed research issues and opportunities in China”in the conference. In the meantimethe book “Weed Management in Rice of Asian-Pacific Region” was published during the conference, the chapter 9 of the book titled“Weeds of rice and their management in China”was contributed by Dr. Zhu, Prof. Zhou Weijun and other weed scientists.
