PhD candidate Ying Le from Institute of Tea Science visits Monash University, Australia for cooperation research

PhD candidate Ying Le, from Prof. Wang Yuefei group, Institute of Tea Science, supported by International cooperation research and exchange program of Zhejiang University, visited Hudson Institute of Medical Research, Monash University, Australia for Collaborative research about one year from September 2016 to September 2017.

Monash University is one of top 8 universities in Australia. It’s also a five-star university. It’s the 60th in QS world university ranking list. Hudson Institute's world-class scientists and clinicians are at the forefront of discovery and translational research.

Ying Le was a visiting student in Center for Cancer Research (CCR) in Hudson Institute. Her supervisor is Prof. Bryan Williams and Prof. Xu Dakang. Her research was focus on the application of tea bioactive compounds on the therapy of different cancers and diseases, basing on the excellent medical platform there. Moreover, Le also involved in the projected of PD-L1 immunotherapy based on the tumor microenvironment.

Hudson Institute had plenty of experience in daily education system. Every Monday, she gives presentation in English to share the experiment data with people in her group. Every Tuesday, she attends the CCR seminar and learns more from the people in CCR. Every Thursday, Hudson seminar brings her to the famous scientists in the world who shared their experience in publishing the top journal ‘nature’ or ‘science’.

In the past one year, as a PhD candidate in Tea Science, Le leaned more knowledge in medical area and she also published 5 SCI paper as the first author (or first co-author).
