Prof. Zhang Chuanxi from institute of insect science investigates the brown planthopper geographical populations in Malaysia

   Invited by University Putra Malaysia,Prof. Zhang Chuan-Xi flied to Malaysia to investigate the brown planthopper geographical populations and attend academic communications during Oct 22th to Nov 3rd, 2017. In Malaysia, Prof. Zhang investigated the brown planthopper in the rice fields in different area and learned from local scientists about brown planthopper occurrence. Planthopper samples from4 states of Malaysia will help to understand the genetic diversity and the migration routes of the planthopper around the world. He also visited several Insectarium in Putra and Kuala Lumpur. This investigation and academic communication is supported by key subject of National Natural Science Fund “Genomic diversities of different oversea populations of the rice brown planthopper in South and Southeastern Asia, and the development of migration molecular markers”.
