Invited by Professor Hihong Gu in Taiwan Natural Scientific Museum,Prof. Zhang Chuan-Xi flied to Taiwan to investigate the brown planthopper geographical populations and attend academic communications during Nov 10th to Nov 17th, 2017. In Taiwan, Prof. Zhang investigated the brown planthopper in the rice fields in Taizhong, Zhanghua, Jiayi and Xinzhu. Planthopper samples from4 counties of Taiwan will help to understand the genetic diversity,overwintering and migration routes of the planthopper around the world. He also visited the Insectarium in Taiwan Natural Scientific Museum and Muh Sheng Museum of Entomology. This investigation and academic communication is supported by key subject of National Natural Science Fund “Genomic diversities of different oversea populations of the rice brown planthopper in South and Southeastern Asia, and the development of migration molecular markers”.
