From July 3rd to August 5th, 4 undergraduate students Chen Yuhao, Wang Xinqiu, Ma Yuchen and Dai Yiting participated in 4-week Integrated Biosciences UTokyo-ZJU research training program. During this program, every student went to the lab they chose and had their own project to complete under the instruction of their supervisors. During the 4 weeks, students improved their experimental skills, learned how to arrange their every day’s work and most importantly, enhanced their scientific research literacy. At the end of the program, every student finished their research with some results and gave a 12-minute presentation to introduce and summarize their findings with the participants of UTSIP.
Besides research, students went sightseeing during the weekends. They enjoyed Japanese traditional opera — Kabuki, visited National Museum of Nature and Science, have a taste of customs and cultures of KANTO.
The University of Tokyo is one of the world-famous comprehensive universities in Japan and it has an international reputation for its advance in research of many subjects. The Graduate School of Frontier Sciences located on the Kashiwa Campus was established in 1999, and consists of three divisions: Transdisciplinary Sciences, Biosciences and Environmental Studies.
