Date:2016-06-13 Hits:48

During May 23th to 26th, Prof. Fan took his two student to take part in the “2nd Sino-German Workshop: Genetics and Biotechnology of Rapeseed” in Germany. Prof. Fan gave a talk with the title “Identification and evolution of non-coding RNAs in B. napus”, and showed the recent research progress on rapeseed. After the symposium, we also visited the seed company of rapeseed in Kiel.

Nearly 70 researchers in rapeseed field took part in the symposium, they shared their results and progress. What’s more, the cooperation among the researchers was also discussed. The topic made by Prof. Fan about non-coding RNA in Brassica napus attracted a lot attention. The potential communication and cooperation between our lab and others has been discussed. In addition, we had the indepth exchange of views with Prof. Boulos Chalhoub that the communication author of Brassica genome in Science and Prof. Rod Snowdon the major scientist in rapeseed field. Meanwhile, we also constructed the connection and cooperation to the researchers in China, such as Huazhong Agricultural University, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

After the meeting, we went the seed industry company NPZ on May 30th. We talked about the heterosis in rapeseed and research cooperation. On the one hand, we got insight into the characteristics and high-tech of Germany agriculture, which was helpful for China's agricultural development; on the other hand, we determined the collaboration content of heterosis and epigenetic in rapeseed. On May 31st,  we went to Kiel University and visited the lab of Prof. Daguang Cai, who was the long-term partner of our lab. Doctoral Enhui Shen and Yifei Shen presented the academic reports about their research progress. Through the cooperation and exchange, we had the win-win situation.
