From Jan.25th to Feb.6th in 2016, undergraduate Dong Yewen from College of Agricultural & Biotechnology, ZJU participated in a winter program organized by Waseda University and Japan-China Friendship Association. 34 undergraduates from ZJU were included in the program.
During the days in Japan, participants visited four cities including Tokyo, Nara, Kyoto and Osaka. Firstly, students toke classes in Waseda University. Classes were related to history, culture, politics and economy such as language and robot, How to read Tokyo, Japan in reporter’s eyes, etc. In the leisure time, participants experienced Japanese traditional handicrafts like kimono and sado, which were shared by students in Waseda University. Secondly, students visited hall of Toyota and factory of Asahi Beer to experience the culture of a company. After that, students visited the Houses of Parliament.
In summary, not only did the participants improved language skills by communicating with the local citizens, but also experienced a lot by studying and traveling.
