PhD student Yan Zhichao visits University of Rochester for cooperative research

From April 30th to Oct 30th, Yan Zhichao, a PhD studentfrom Institute of Insect Sciences, visited John Werren’s Lab in University of Rochester for cooperative research. The University of Rochester is a private, nonsectarian, research university in Rochester, New York.  Dr. Werren is a famous scientist in parasitoid research area, who has already published 16 papers on journal “Science” and “Nature”. During the stay in University of Rochester, Yan Zhichao focused on the research of parasitoid genomes, learned useful skills of bioinformatics and achieved some preliminary results.
During the stay, he also attended an international symposium entitled “Ecological and Evolutionary Genomics Gordon Research Conference” at University of England and present a poster entitled “Insights into the venom composition and evolution of an endoparasitoid wasp by combining proteomic and transcriptomic analyses”.
