The 2nd International Conference on Fruit Quality Biology is held in Zhejiang University

The 2nd International Conference on Fruit Quality Biology, co-hosted by the New Zealand Institute for Plant & Food Research and Zhejiang University, was held in Zijingang Campus, Zhejiang University during October 19-23. Professor Wu Zhaohui, President of the University, welcomed all the participants. Professor Chen Kunsong from Zhejiang University and Dr. Ian Ferguson from the New Zealand Institute for Plant & Food Research both chaired the conference.
More than 230 participants from international (United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, Belgium, Israel, Chile, Thailand) and China attended the conference. The domestic participants came from more than 40 universities/colleges and scientific research institutes, including Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China Agricultural University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Huazhong Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Chongqing University, South China Agricultural University, Zhejiang University, etc.
The theme of the conference is the Biological Studies on the Fruit Quality of the world and China, including (1) Fruit Quality Genomics; (2) Fruit Development and Ripening; (3) Postharvest Research: the Value Chain; (4) Stress and Disease Responses; (5) Plant Secondary Metabolites and Fruit Nutrition. There are 51 oral presentations and 31 posters covering different research areas.
