Two Undergraduates take part in Global Engagement Academic Research program held by North Carolina State University

From 12th July to 7th August, two students from college of agricuture and biotechnology college took part in Global Engagement Academic Research(GEAR) program held by North Carolina State University( NCSU), together with students from other universities and colleges.
During the time, students joined different labs and followed different professors by mutual choices. Under the instruction of tutors and postgraduates, they learned how to do research on certain topic, use the apparatus as well as to follow all the rules in the lab. They had to read associated abstracts, make records and write up research by themselves. In the end, they attended an official symposium which had 258 presenters and involving people in related field to present their project by posters.
Additionally, GEAR program also took them to Washington D.C. for a 3-day tour which left strong impression with them on American politics and culture.
GEAR is aimed to provide opportunity to junior students with multi-disciplinary background, helping them to experience the research atmosphere and the culture of America.
