Professor Chen Kunsong, associate professors Zhang Bo and Yin Xueren, members of fruit quality biology research group, visited Kasetsart University during 8th to 12th August, 2015. As a top one university for agricultural science, Kasetsart university was founded in 1943 and is one of founders for the National Postharvest Technology Innovation Center (NPTIC) of Thailand.
Professor Chen Kunsong introduced the development of Zhejiang University and the Faculty of Agriculture, Biology and Enviroment. Associate professor Zhang Bo gave an introduction of the history and current situation of Fruit Science Institute, and associate professor YinXueren made a presentation of the progress in fruit texture study. The director of NPTIC, Professor Jingtair Siriphanich presented an overview of the development of Kasetsart University and the logistics industry of agricultural products in Thailand. Dr. Kietsuda Leungwilai, Dr. Wachiraya Imsabai, Dr.Apita Bunsiri and Dr.Teeranud Romphophak introduced progress of fruit storage quality biology and regulation during logistics.
During the visit, Zhejiang University and Kasetsart University signed an agreement for co-operation for fruit postharvest biology, logistics and the sensory analysis. Moreover, a memorandum of cooperation was also signed to promote cooperation and achieve sustainable development.
