On invitation of the organizing committees, A four-person delegation from the CAB, including associate Prof. Zeng Fanrong, postdoctor Tan Yuanyuan, Dr. Lu Haiping and Dr. Jiang Meng from Prof. Shu’s research group attended “3th International Symposium on Plant Signaling and Behavior” held at Paris, France from June 29 to July 2.
The symposium drew over 150 researchers from all over the world with oral and poster presentations focusing on aspects such as plant behavior, photosynthesis, long distance signaling, signaling in plant stress physiology, plant-microbe interactions, phytohormones signaling and development biology as well. Associate Prof. Zeng Fanrong delivered a presentation titled “Linking oxygen availability with membrane potential maintenance and K+ retention of barley roots: Implications for waterloggings stress tolerance”. Dr. Lu Haiping’s “Is serotonin a signaling molecule in plants?” and Dr. Jiang Meng’s “When OsGUN4 talks, who is listening?” are accepted for conference papers. During the meeting, they discussed and communicated with research scholars of the plant signaling and behavior from different countries and regions.
After the meeting, Postdocter Tan Yuanyuan, Dr. Lu Haiping and Dr. Jiang Meng from Prof. Shu’s research group visited sino-german cooperation project unit- Professor Karl-Heinz Engel Group, Institute of Food Science, Technische Universitaet München. Munich. The both sides discussed the recent experimental results in the form of report and communicated with the respective experimental plans. At the same time, they also visited the metabonomics analysis laboratory in Technische Universitaet München.
