Assoc. Prof. Huang Jianzhong attends FAO/IAEA Research Coordination Meeting in Vienna

At the invitation of the United Nations’ Joint FAO/IAEA Division of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture, assoc. Prof. Huang Jianzhong from Institute of Nuclear Agricultural Sciences attended the third research coordination meeting for the coordinated research project (CRP) “Climate proofing of food crops: Genetic improvement for adaption to high temperatures in drought prone areas and beyond”, sponsored by the Joint FAO/IAEA Division in Vienna, Austria, from Jun 21 to 28, 2015. Researchers of 13 groups take part in this CRP from 11 countries, i. e., China, Colombia, Cuba, India, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, Senegal, Spain, Tanzania and the United Kingdom.
The purpose of the meeting is to review implementation of the individual projects, evaluate important achievements, and consolidate the CRP work plan for the next fiscal year.
Achievements, outputs and work plan were presented by each research group and discussed among participants. A final document was drafted based on project objectives, achievements and participants’ recommendations.
