On January 27, 2015, the 4th International Symposium of Crop Germplasm Innovation and Molecular Breeding, co-hosted by the Institute of Crop Sciences and the Bio-Breeding Center of Zhejiang University (ZJU), was held in Zijingang campus. Professor ZHU Shuijin (deputy dean of the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology, CAB), welcomed participants, and Professor ZHANG Guoping (Executive Deputy Director of New Countryside Development Institute and Bio-breeding Center of ZJU) and Professor Hirokazu Nakai (Shizuoka University, Janpan) delivered opening remarks. Professor SHU Qingyao (CAB/ZJU) chaired the opening session.
About 200 participants from more than 20 international (Germany, Japan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Mongolia) and domestic participants attended the conference. Scientists from Shizuoka University (Japan); Ion Beam Science Center of Japan Atomic Energy Agency, Technical University of Munich (Germany), Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Malaysian Nuclear Technology Research Center, China Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Shanghai Agri-biological Gene Center, as well as from Institute of Crop Science and Institute of Nuclear-Agricultural Science of ZJU presented their recent research results in different fields of plant breeding.
