Teachers and students from institute of insect science attend the 62nd annual meeting of Entomological Society

On invitation of Entomological Society of America, Prof. Liu shusheng, Prof. Chen xuexin and five graduates Zhu yu, Qi yixiang, Xia renying, Wang yujun and Xu gang from Institute of Insect Sciences of CAB attended the 62nd annual meeting of Entomological Society of America from Nov.15th -20th at Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Over 3500 entomological researchers from all over the world attended the meeting. This meeting organized more than 3000 symposia and over 2400 individual posters, which showed the achievements and development directions of entomology in the world. The theme of ESA 2014 is “Grand Challenges Beyond Our Horizons”. The purpose of this effort is to maximize the contribution of entomology to improving the human condition by establishing a global grand challenge agenda for entomology that identifies the most important challenges to which all of entomologists can make the most significant contributions through our science, education, and policy efforts. In this meeting, Wang yujun made an oral presentation and other students showed their posters. Through the discussion and exchange with excellent international peers, we can broaden our mind and open up the international vision, to prompt us to improve and perfect themselves in the future research work.
