Dr. Li Xian and Dr. Yin Xueren attended IHC2014

Dr. Li Xian and Dr. Yin Xueren attended the 29th International Horticultural Congress (IHC2014, 17-22 August, Brisbane, Australia). The International Horticulture Congress is an important platform for academic as well as industrial communication in the horticulture, and it is held every 4 years.
The topics of IHC2014 covers almost all the areas ofhorticultural research and industrial development. There are 52 symposiums including (1) Fruits and vegetables for human health; (2) Plant breeding in horticulture; (3) Molecular biology in horticulture; (4) Postharvest knowledge for the future; (5) Ornamental horticulture in the global greenhouse; (6) Innovative plant protection in horticulture, etc.
On August 21, Dr. Yin gave an oral presentation entitled 'Transcriptional regulation on fruit ripening and postharvest quality: role of ethylene response factor (ERF)' in the section of ‘Postharvest knowledge for the future’. He introduced the research progress of regulation of transcript factors on the development of fruit quality such as texture, flavor, and so on.
On August 22, Dr. Li gave an oral presentation entitled ‘Effects of Huyou (Citrus changshanensis) fruit extracts on glucose consumption in human HepG2 cells and their hypolipidemic activity in mice’ in the section of ‘Fruits and vegetables for human health’. In addition, she introduced the recent progress of evaluation of nutritional quality of fruit carried out in Fruit Science Institute of Zhejiang University.
