Date:2014-07-27 Hits:331

Dr. Li Zhenghe attended the XVI International Congress on Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions from July 4th –11th, 2014, held in Rhodes, Greece. The International Society for Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions (IS-MPMI) is comprised of members from more than 30 countries who research molecular aspects of microorganisms interacting with plants and the consequences of such interactions. Disciplines represented by IS-MPMI members include microbiology, nematology, plant pathology, plant breeding, and plant physiology etc. Every two years the society sponsors the IS-MPMI Congress, during which attendees at all career levels interact with each other to discuss the cutting-edge research using molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, genetics, genomics, proteomics, and molecular ecology.
The scientific program on the XVI IS-MPMI conference includes topics related to microbial pathogenesis, signaling, plant immunity, symbiosis, effector biology, epigenetics, recognition of microbes, toxins and plant hormones, ecology and evolution, local and systemic resistance, biocontrol, large-scale omics, induced resistance/priming and biotechnology and so on.
During the conference, Dr. Li interacted with several leading researcher in host-virus interaction field, and particularly with Prof. Jean-François Laliberté and Prof. Kriton Kalantidis. Dr. Li introduced the ongoing studies on negative-stranded RNA virus in ZJU and discussed the possibility in future collaboration.
