In order to promote the international termite control cooperation, strengthen the technical exchanges between China and ASEAN in the field of termite control, and help Lao Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone to improve the termite control work. Under the leadership of the National Termite Control Center, Prof. Mo Jianchu from the institute of Insect Science went to the Lao Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone with other 5 colleagues from June 19th to June 23rd to investigate the species and damage of local termite on the spot, and put forward some guiding suggestions for local termite control work.
The main termite species of this area are close to Yunnan Province, but because of the suitable climatic conditions and the lack of local termite control insititutions and staffs, the termite population density and damage are more serious than Yunnan.
