Prof. Li Hongye from Biotechnology Institute went to Australia to attend the 11th Congress of the International Society of Citrus Nurserymen (ISCN) held in AUstralia and New Zealand during July 22, 2017 - August 4. The main venue of the conference is located in Mildura, Australia. The congress attracted more than 150 scholars and nurserymen from Australia, New Zealand, Spain, the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, China, Chile, Israel, Turkey and other countries.
The congress arranged 3-days of formal workshop sessions, 1-day nursery visiting, as well as one week of Pr-congress and post congress tour to the nurseries, orchards, packing houses. A total of 45 reports, including the latest research progress on the breeding of rootstocks and scion varieties, the general trend of occurrence and management of Huanglongbing in the world, the introduction of newly released varieties, the latest detection technology of virus diseases and Huanglongbing, seedling cultivation technology, seedling quality control, citrus pest control technology, etc..
Prof. Li Hongye attended the formal workshop session, and post congress tour. Pro. Li visited Auscitrus and Dareton Research Station, VCF nursery in nearby the Redcliffs, Chislett Nursery and orchard plus nearby horticultural operations, Agri Exchange and Ivan Tolley, Barossa Valley sights and wineries in Australia. Then prof. Li went to New Zealand, visited orchards of citrus and Kiwi, packing houses and Kwan Nursery in Keri Keri.
