As the representative of Asian continent, Prof. Fan Longjiang took part in the International Weed Genome Consortium (IWGC) leader meeting hold in Roth Amsted Research, UK in March 21st-22nd, 2017. Seven participants from USA, UK, Australia, South Africa, Brail and China representing different continents attended the two-days meeting. They discussed several issues including the organizing structure of IWGC, weed genome database, sponsors and the priority weed species for genome sequencing etc.

After the meeting, Prof. Fan visited the weed science group leaded Prof. Paul Neve in Roth Amsted Research. After discussion, both sides determined several potential cooperation projects in near future.
