Invited by Aklan State University of Philippine and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Prof. Zhang Chuanxi flied to Aklan and Luzon Islands of Philippine to investigate brown planthopper geographical populations and attend academic communications during Feb 14th to 25th, 2017. In Philippine, prof. Zhang investigated the brown planthopper in the rice fields in different area and learned from local scientists about brown planthopper occurrence. In IRRI, Professor Zhang was introduced about researches of rice pests in IRRI, and gave an oral presentation “The functional genomics and Geographic populations of the brown planthoppers”. This investigation and academic communication is supported by key subject of National Natural Science Fund “Genomic diversities of different oversea populations of the rice brown planthopper in South and Southeastern Asia, and the development of migration molecular markers”.
