This winter vocation, I took part in the exchange program of the University of Alberta in Canada. Edmonton, where the university located, is one of the sunniest cities in Canada. The sunshine falls on the snow, which is very beautiful landscape.

Courses, lectures, activities ... ... the daily itinerary was full. The courses were easy, so I can participate in their activities after class. The second week happened to be the international week in the school. In the afternoon, I finished the course early, and went to lectures on various topics, went to concerts and visited the exhibitions. In the weekends, I always went around, found the best local restaurant and went to Banfu town to see the snow ... ... three weeks in Alberta, every day was unforgettable.

The course of "Global Leadership" from Professor R was my favorite. He focused on classroom participation, integrating cards and games into the curriculum, guiding us to experience and understand the three levels of leadership. At the beginning of the group discussion, team members got together to complete a task. When we were familiar with each other, everyone directly involved in the course, doing lectures and interaction. In the relaxed and interesting atmosphere, I learned a lot of knowledge without noticing it. In addition, we had a better understanding of the local culture on a variety of journeys. We went to visit the local garbage disposal plant, organic vegetable center, and the city center building. Edmonton is extremely serious about the classification of rubbish. After the garbage is recycled, the part that can be reused will be converted into usable products. The part of the waste after the distillation will be converted into energy for direct use.

Because of low temperature in Edmonton in winter, participating in a variety of winter sports is naturally essential. We tried the curling exercise and found that walking on the ice was much more difficult than our imagination. It is difficult to keep balance when we were walkingbecause the curling is too heavy, we couldn’t slide it to the avant-garde line or slide it too far over the back line. The person who was brushing the ice was always couldn’t keep up with the curling movement speed. We tried to skiing too. Most of us could not wait to slide down from the hillside before we could balancethen we felt down and became a snowman. We saw the ice hockey game in the field for the first time and we are completely impressed by the passion of athletes. We went to the Rocky Mountains on weekend and we took more than two hours of hiking on the ice. We are frozen, but still happy.

The day before the end of the trip, we went to the local fruit workshop to be a volunteer. This is a special welfare program of Edmonton, we need to make the dried fruit or jam and sell it. The money is used for public welfare. It was the apple production seasonwe did the apple dry and apple sauce. Apple dry is used to send for free and apple sauce will be sold. Everyone was focused and happywe understood the fun of volunteer.
