Dr. Xu Haijun was invited by Prof. John Carlson to visit the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) of Yale University from Oct.28th, 2016 to Jan. 24th, 2017 and exchanged concerned ideas with Prof. Carlson on academic research.
Prof. Carlson is a member of National Academy of Sciences of USA. He has obtained a series of breakthrough achievements on research of insect gustatory and olfactory system. Prof. Carlson is a well-known scholar in insect neuroscience, and most of his work published in credit journals such as Nature, Cell, Science, and Neuron etc. During visiting, Dr. Xu briefly introduced the institute of Insect Sciences of Zhejiang University as well as his own work to Prof. Carlson and his lab members, and was actively involved into experimental designs and operations on insect neuroscience. Dr. Xu discussed with Prof. Carlson about academic ideas and experimental results every week, and further talked potential collaboration in the near future.
