Professor and Students from Institute of Insect Science Investigate Brown Planthopper Geographical Population and Attend Academic Communication in Nepal

 On the invitation of Dr. Prem Nidhi Sharma from Nepal Agricultural Research Council, prof. Zhang Chuanxi and PhD students Li Danting and Wang Siliang flied to Nepal to investigate brown planthopper geographical population and attended academic communication from October 14th to 19th. In Nepal, professor Zhang and two students collected brown planthopper from rice field in different area and learned from local farmers about brown planthopper occurrence, with the accompany of Dr. Sharma. Professor and students visited Entomology Division of Nepal Agricultural Research Council. Researcher from Nepal Agricultural Research Council introduced about research overview of Nepal agriculture, and professor Zhang gave an oral presentation of “The functional genomics of the brown planthopper”. This investigation and academic communication activity is supported by National Natural Science Fund “genomic diversities of different oversea populations of the rice brown planthopper in South and Southeastern Asia, and the development of migration molecular markers”.
