Three undergraduate students – Xu Jing,Zhou Chenyan,Zhou Xinyi participated the exchange program of SUTD(Singapore University of Technology and Design),from 6th September to 21st December. This exchange program between ZJU and SUTD is an important part of the ‘China-Singpore-America’ collaboration agreement signed by ZJU,SUTD and MIT which aims at promoting cultural exchange. International Design Institute(IDI) of Zhejiang University selected 35 outstanding undergraduate students, qualified with excellent and well-rounded abilities to participate this program.
The aim of this program is to help students both in ZJU and SUTD learn advanced technology and follow the trend of our society, which will make both universities to complement with the other’s advantages. Exchange students join the class according to their grades and choices. In order to match the major in ZJU, these three students finally made the decision of entering the pillar of ASD(Architecture and Sustain Design) and signed up for the courses of. Additionally, students who are willing to take some academic projects can participate in iUOP in which students can do some projects they are interested in under professors’ supervision. Moreover, 10 exchange students can take part in TF LEaRN(Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking), which gives the students opportunity toclose to the society.
The program not only broadened students’ international horizons, but also helped them fully understand the culture of Singapore and the application of technology on design.
