Biography:
Prof. Anne Simon is the Director of Virology Program in University of Maryland and a leader scientist in RNA Virology and RNA Biology field. Her major expertise is in the area of RNA structure and function, particularly related to RNA virus genome replication, repairing and cap-independent mRNA translation mechanisms. Over the last years, her group has published over 80 peer reviewed papers in journals including Science、PNAS、The EMBO Journal、Journal of Virology etc. She was elected as Fellow of American Academy of Microbiology (AAM) in 2014, and nominated for President of the American Society of Virology in 2012, elected as Plant Virus Councilor, American Society of Virology in 2011. She also has severed a number of editorial activities, for example: <Journal of Virology> Editor, <Frontiers in Virology> co-Editor-in-Chief, <Applied and Environmental Microbiology> Associate Editor, <Virology> Editor, <Molecular Plant-Microbe Interaction> Associate Editor, <Viruses> Editorial Board.
