Plant and Animal Genome Asia 2014 (PAG Asia 2014) took place at the Grand Coperthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore on May 19-21, 2014. The PAG Asia meeting has been full 3 days, consisting of 9 plenary sessions, 18 scientific workshops as well as 9 industry workshops, and a poster section. Prof. Jiang Lixi from College of Agriculture and Biotechnology (CAB), Zhejiang University (ZJU) attended the meeting and gave a presentation entitled as ‘Analysis of gene expression profiles of two near-isogenic lines differing at a QTL region affecting oil content at high temperatures during seed maturation in oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.)’ on a workshop mining functional genes in crop genomes.
Invited by Prof. Yu Hao, the vice dean for Faculty of Science, National University of Singapore (NUS), Prof. Jiang Lixi visited Temsek Life Science Laboratory and Department of Biological Science. Prof. Jiang took this opportunity to discuss the possibilities deepening cooperation between DBS/NUS and CAB/ZJU in scientific research and student training. He also met some TLL doctorates who are alumni of Zhejiang University.
