Prof. Yuanwen Teng from the Institute of Fruit Science of ZJU participated in XV. EUCARPIA Fruit Breeding and Genetics Symposium

The XV EUCARPIA Fruit Breeding and Genetics Symposium was held in Czech University of Life Sciences (CULS) in Prague – Suchdol, which was organized by the Research and Breeding Institute of Pomology Holovousy Ltd. under the auspices of international Society for Horticultural Science and European Association for Research on Plant Breeding (EUCARPIA).

Nearly 150 scientists and experts from 30 countries across five continents took part in the meeting to discuss the progresses of fruit breeding and genetics. More than 40 scientific works were presented in the form of oral presentations and 110 papers in the poster presentation. Prof. Yuanwen Teng From Zhejiang University was invited to deliver a keynote speech entitled as “Interspecific hybridization contributes greatly to the origin of Asian pear cultivars – A case study of pears from Gansu Province of China”. The delegates was arranged to visit the laboratories and breeding farm of Research and Breeding Institute of Pomology Holovousy Ltd. and commercial orchards of fruit growing company Sady Český ráj s.r.o.
