Germplasm (genetic) resource is an important strategic resource, and also a significant material basis for the survival of mankind.This research team mainly engages in germplasm resources innovation, molecular breeding technology, the development and application of important stress tolerance and disease resistance functional genes, selecting and breeding of new varieties among Cucurbitaceae melons, cruciferous mustard and other important horticultural crops.Rearch areas are as follows:① Molecular evaluation of genetic resources .Development, identification and utilization of significant stress tolerance, disease resistance functional genes；②Molecular (quantitative) genetic and evolution on important traits of genetic resources;③Utilize modern techniques such as cellular and molecular breeding technology and combined with conventional breeding technology to improve crop traits directly;④Biosynthesis mechanisms and regulation of functional (medicinal) ingredient in genetic resources, and cultivation of enhanced functional varieties.
