 Bachelor of Agriculture – Plant Protection, Zhejiang College of Agriculture, 1953.

Major Research Interests:

  • Systematics and faunal work on parasitic Hymenoptera in China.

  • Evaluation and utilization of biological control agents, in particular insect parasitoids.

  • Development and implementation of integrated pest management in agricultural and forestry ecosystems.

Major ongoing research projects:

  • Fauna of China: Insect—Hymenoptera: Dyrinidae, 1998-2001, NSFC project

  • Atlas of Hymenoptera in Zhejiang, China, 2001-2003, Provincial NSF project

  • A systematic study on the subfamily Doryctinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) in China and morphological adaptation to parasitic habits in adult parasitoids, 2002-2004, NSFC project (with Professor Chen Xue-xin)
