Visiting of Prof. Xia Yiji from Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU)

On May 30, Professor Xia Yiji, came to Institute of Vegetable Science, Zhejiang University (ZJU) on invitation of Prof. Zhixiang Chen. He first gave an academic lecture about "The role of NUDT6 and NUDT7 in plant defense: The ammonia/nitrate ratio as a signal in activation of defense pathway" and "Redox proteomics approaches for identification and characterization of Redox–sensitive protein". After seminer, Prof. Xia visited the labs and research facilities, listened to the introduction on the development of discipline of vegetable science of our institute, and talked about the metabolism of redox signaling in stress responses and plant-pathogen interactions.

Xia, Yiji, Ph D, Professor, Faculty of Science and Institute of Biology, HKBU, got BSc in Zhejiang Agricultural University, Ningbo, MSc in Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Ph D in Iowa State University. The rearch interests of Prof Xia are redox signaling in stress responses and functional genomics and proteomics in plants.
