Date:2012-03-28

The IXth International Conference on the Plant Hormone Ethylene (Ethylene 2012) was recently held in Rotorua, New Zealand, from 19th to 23rd March, 2012. Colleagues and students, Dr. Xian Li, Dr. Chong-de Sun, Dr. Xue-ren Yin, Qian Xu and Ting Min, from the Fruit Quality Biology Research Team of Zhejiang University attended this conference.
The conference, which is held every three years and is the most important platform for academic communication on ethylene biology research, covered all aspects of ethylene biology research, including (1) perception and signalling; (2) biosynthesis and control; (3) ethylene and other hormones; (4) plant development; (5) fruit ripening; (6) postharvest biology; (7) abscission; (8) new technologies; (9) stress; (10) senescence. International experts and young researchers gave excellent academic reports on their work.
Dr. Xue-ren Yin from our institute presented part of his researches, ‘Expression of Ethylene Response Genes during Persimmon Fruit Astringency Removal’ and also made a brief introduction about other work in the Fruit Biology Research Team of Zhejiang University.
