Prof. Yujin Hao from Shandong Agricultural University was invited to visit our school and made an academic presentation on “Transcriptional regulation of fruit color of apple” on March 19, 2014. During the presentation, he introduced the recent progress on gene isolation and functional identification of genes related to fruit quality, such as color and organic acid changes, and discussed the molecular mechanisms underlying fruit quality development influenced by signaling pathways, responding to temperature, light, carbon and nitrogen, and discussed further the network controlling fruit quality development and answered questions from the academic staff and students present.
Prof. Yujin Hao is a Shandong Agricultural University “Taishan scholar” professor, the author of a National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation in 2000, and the winner of “National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars” in 2013. Hao has published over 60 papers in the top journals of plant biology field, such as “Plant Physiology”, “Plant Biotechnology Journal” and “Plant, Cell & Environment”, which have been cited over 1200 times.
