Dr. Silin Zhong from University of Cornell visited the Institute of Fruit Science and made an academic presentation

        Dr. Silin Zhong visited Zhejiang University and gave an academic lecture entitled ‘Epigenomics, a new challenge: A case study of tomato fruit development and epigenome reprogramming’, to postgraduates of the Fruit Science Institute. The presentation included an introduction to research on methylation of fruit ripening- and senescence-related genes as well as their roles in transcriptional regulation based on Next Generation Sequencing.
        Silin Zhong obtained his PhD degree in 2007, from the University of Nottingham under the supervision of Prof. Donald Grierson. He has been working mainly on genomics and epigenetics in the University of Cornell, and will be moving to the Chinese University of Hong Kong in the autumn of 2013. He has published papers in Nature, Nature Genetics, Nature Biotechnology and The Plant Cell.
