CAB delegation visits Pakistan

From April 7-10, Prof. CHEN Xuexin, dean of the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology (CAB) led a delegation to Pakistan. An MOU signing ceremony between ZJU and University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan's top agricultural university was held, which is witnessed by H.E. Mr. Yao Jing, China's Ambassador to Pakistan, and H.E. Dr. Syed Safdar Ali Shah, Director-General (CPEC), Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. At the signing ceremony, the Ambassador H.E. Mr. Yao Jing encouraged more in-depth academic and research cooperation and exchanges between ZJU and Pakistan's universities under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

During the visit, the delegation visited Quaid-I-Azam University, Pakistan's top comprehensive university and met with the acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Waqar Ali Shah to discuss the potential academic and research cooperation. The ZJU delegation also visited Lasbela University and met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dost Muhammad.

Currently there are about 110 international students in the CAB. The majority of them come from the "Belt and Road" countries and regions, which reflects its active participation in the national "One Belt One Road" initiative.
